Queensland Nickel – Stack Inspection

What do you do when you have a condemned structure that requires an urgent inspection? You call in NQ UAV to conduct a detailed inspection over the entire structure. Our skilled pilots are able to operate within meters of the structure while our payload specialists control the camera to get high resolution photos of every detail. In this instance, we had a large concrete stack that needed to be documented. This involved creating a flight plan to ensure the entire structure was captured in high detail and the photos were able to be stitched together to make it easier for the site engineers to do the stack inspection from the comfort of their air-conditioned office.

This stack inspection proved to be a difficult as access around the base of the structure was limited and areas for the pilot and payload specialists to be able to operate from where in areas of traffic from HV dump trucks and forklifts. NQ UAV were able to organise a schedule of flights to ensure that they did not conflict with the other ground users in addition, we already have a very efficient method of operation with further ensured that our operations took as little time as possible during the stack inspection.
